Dec. 12, visit YVR-Quest pop-up market and donate towards a holiday hamper

Employees at YVR, Sea Island aviation agencies, airline partners, passengers, and supporters are encouraged to shop at the YVR-Quest pop-up market on Tuesday, December 12, fill a reusable bag with groceries, and donate it to Quest Outreach Society.

The goal is to fill hampers with meal essentials and festive favourites to ensure satisfying meals are delivered to families facing food insecurity across the Lower Mainland this holiday season.

The need is immense as more than 21 percent of British Columbians, or just over one million people, live in food-insecure households.

According to a recent Food Bank Canada report, food bank visits in Canada reached a new high of more than two million in March 2024—nearly double the number five years ago.

Initiatives such as the YVR-Quest Annual Hamper Drive are vital to addressing food insecurity in B.C., offering hope to those in need and fostering a sense of unity within the airport community.
The airport’s Sea Island neighbours are encouraged to join in and participate.

The pop-up market starts at 10am at The Spirit of Haida Gwaii: Jade Canoe, Level 3, International Departures.

All participation will help make a real difference in the lives of British Columbians this holiday season.
