Construction of the Pier D Expansion project at YVR, which began in December 2017, has now been completed.
This expansion was undertaken to provide eight additional gates to support large aircraft—four contact and four remote-stand—as the airport’s existing International Pier was at capacity.
The focal point of the project is its thematic passenger area that takes its inspiration from the
West Coast of B.C. This area incorporates several unique features:
· An immersive, multi-tiered digital experience.
· An outdoor space with living trees that are open to the skies above.
· Four commercial tenant spaces integrated around the thematic area.
· New passenger amenities such as a multi-faith prayer room and quiet room.
Travellers are encouraged to check out the new Pier D area when flying out of YVR.
