Applications are now open for the Cathay Pacific’s I Can Fly Vancouver program.

The eight-week course gives Grade 11 students with a passion for aviation the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the airline industry with Skytrax 2015 World Airline Awards Best Trans-Pacific Airline, Cathay Pacific Airways.

Students of the program have access to various facets of what makes airlines tick, from engineering to cabin crew, customer service agents to passenger sales.

Several successful graduates of previous I Can Fly Canada programs have joined Cathay Pacific, including three from the Vancouver program, who are now working as flight attendants with Cathay Pacific’s Vancouver Cabin Crew Base.

Launched in 2003 in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific’s I Can Fly program came to Canada in 2009 and since then more than 170 students have completed this educational aviation adventure.

The I Can Fly Vancouver program runs weekly and operates during after-school hours from mid-April to mid-June 2016. Grade 11 high school students with a passion for aviation or who are considering a post-graduate degree in the field are invited to apply online before March 10, 2016, at cathaypacific.ca/icanfly.
